New Changes for Hanime on Anime!

Come one, come all!  After my blunder from last week, I’ve finally made the post that you all have been waiting for (sort of)!  I hinted at it last week and the week before, but I’ve made some changes to Hanime on Anime that I think will be better for the site and more entertaining and enjoyable for readers.  So gather around children, and come see what’s different!

1.     New rating system!

So this was something that many of you might have noticed last week with my review on My Hero Academia.  Since Hanime on Anime’s beginnings, I’ve been using a “five star rating” system to rate how well an anime show or movie is.  In recent months, I’ve felt that this was an inaccurate way of doing this and that it didn’t truly reflect what I feel about a show or movie.  That’s where this change comes in.  Since using it for last week’s review, all of my reviews will be done using a “1 Through 10” system.  It’s pretty self-explanitory; I rate an anime on a scale of one through ten.  I have also considered including an icon with the official rating and a brief list review the perks and downsides of the show or movie being review-something very similar to how Gamespot reviews games and other media-, but this is still in the works.

2.     New rules!

Next on the list of changes is something that I decided to implement after a suggestion from a friend.  Finally after two long years, I am finally taking requests!  I will admit, sometimes it’s hard to figure out what to do every Sunday.  Using a request system would create a repository of ideas for shows to review, and maybe suggest a few other things (more on that later!).  However, I do have one rule: NO HENTAI, YAOI, OR YURI!!!  For those of you unfamiliar with these terms, hentai is basically anime porn, and yaoi and yuri are gay and lesbian variations of it.  Under no circumstances will I review this genre of anime, and I will not accept your request if you mention one.  On the other hand, you may suggest an ecchi, an anime that presents a lot of innuendos and fan service, sometimes bordering on hentai.

3.     NEW STUFF!

And of course, to help make Hanime on Anime more entertaining and fun, I’ve decided to do different posts besides reviews!  Don’t get me wrong, I will still be doing reviews, but I’m going to try and mix things up every month so that it won’t be just reviews.  Remember back in August of 2015  I did that reaction to that orzz.com article?   I loved doing that post and was one of my all time favorites.   In fact, this inspired a new segment called “Hanime Reacts.”  It’s just as it sounds: I react to an article or video that is anime related.  Another segment I’ve decided to add is called “My Favorites in Anime.”  Here I make a list of some of my favorite moments, characters, weapons, and everything in between in anime.  And finally, I may also do posts that discuss some news and gossip in the anime world.  Believe it or not, for this Sunday’s post, I’m going to talk about the debate that’s been going on with the live action reboot of Ghost In the Shell.  Also, some of these posts will be done as vlogs!  However, do not expect this to happen regularly as I have been busy with my graduate studies.  Free time in my schedule will be a determining factor in how many video posts I will be able to do in the near future.  And to clarify, Character of the Month will still be in the monthly line up and take place at the end of each month as usual.

So that’s all that I have and will be planning to do for Hanime on Anime.   My apologies again for this post being late!  If you have a request for an anime or topic that you want to read about on Hanime on Anime, leave a comment below!  Until then, stick around for my latest post this Sunday!
