Hanime on Anime

Well, September is coming to an end this week, so I think it’s time I went on ahead and brought up this month’s Character of the Month.  And I must say, this month’s Character was a given; I had to do it.  Now if you haven’t been keeping up lately, this month I celebrated my birthday.  And to help celebrate, I did reviews on my favorite animes.  And seeing that one of those favorites was in fact Cowboy Bebop , I knew that the Character of the Month had to be the afro haired, gun slinging protagonist himself.  That’s right! This month’s Character of the month is Spike Spiegel from Cowboy Bebop ! Now Cowboy Bebop is generally episodic, but there is an underlying plot.  Much of this plot involves Spike.  Long before Bebop ’s plot comes into play, Spike was a former gang member of the infamous Red Dragon Syndicate and a good friend to the show’s main antagonist, Vicious.  But after an affair with Vicious’s girlfriend Julia, Spike is caught in a confrontation and “dies.”  Though the det

Hello ladies and gentlemen!  It’s that time again.  And since it’s still September, today I will be doing another one of my favorites.  However, this will be the last review that I will do for this special “event”-if you could call it that.  This week’s review will delve into a Studio Ghibli film that I feel has kind of gotten swept under the rug.  So enough of the stalling and let’s get to this review on my favorite Studio Ghibli film as well as my favorite anime film, Howl’s Moving Castle . Howl’s Moving Castle entails the adventure of a young girl named Sophie.  After afflicted with a curse that turns her into a ninety year-old woman, Sophie embarks on a journey to find a way to break the curse.  That’s when she comes across an enchanted castle that is able to walk on its own.  Sophie enters the castle to escape the elements.  There she meets the residents of the castle:  a fire demon named Calcifer, a wizard-in-training named Markl, and a young wizard named Howl.  After making

Greetings people of Earth!  I’m back again this Sunday with a new review on one of my favorite animes.  This week’s anime is considered by all who have seen it to be a classic.  I bet if I mentioned the name, you’d go, “Oh! I’ve heard of that before!”  Not only that, this is one of the few animes that I hold in highest regards.  Now what do I mean by that?  Well, I’ll explain that later.  But until then, let’s get started with this week’s review on one of my all time favorites: Cowboy Bebop . And as I promised in my last post, this month I will be doing reviews on some of my favorite anime shows of all time.  This month’s first review delves into one of the most well-known anime shows in the anime world.  I don’t think there is anyone, not even a casual anime watcher, that wouldn’t recognize anime’s most famous half-demon.  If you haven’t figured it out already-aside from the title and the pictures I have on the post-this week’s review will be Inuyasha .  So now that I’ve got that out of the way, let’s get started with the reviewing!
