Hanime on Autism Part 4

Image
Greetings, all!  Today marks the end of my special Autism Awareness Month Event, Hanime on Autism.  Unfortunately, with my first semester of grad school coming to a close, and that meaning a mess of final projects, I was not able to put a video together.  However, much of that would have discussed how you can help support Autism Awareness.  And yes, that is important, and I will leave a link to a sight that I particularly like that can be helpful. That aside, I really wanted to end this event with an awesome video that I found that sums up exactly what I think of autism and what this event is all about.  So with that, please enjoy the video and thank you so much for your support.  Be sure to stay tuned this Sunday for Part 1 of Miyazaki May! -Hanime on Anime And here's a link to the Autism Society, one of the longest running autism groups: http://www.autism-society.org/

Character of the Month of April: Lelouch vi Britannia (Lelouch Lamperouge)

Image
Greetings!  My Autism Awareness Month event may not be over yet, but this month’s reviews have come to an end.  And that means it’s time to reveal this month’s Character of the Month!  To be honest, this month’s pick was a tough call.  I had a choice between three good characters, two of which would have taken the couples title if they won (guess we know who those people are).  And while I had to give up two good characters, I got one of the best.  So enough stalling and let’s talk about this month’s Character of the Month: Lelouch vi Britannia-aka Lelouch Lamperouge-from Code Geass . In the world of Code Geass , the earth lives in an alternate time when the Holy Britannian Empire is one of the greatest global powers.  Lelouch was once a prince of this empire.  But after the death of his mother, he is stripped of his title and he and his blind and crippled sister Nunally are sent to Japan.  So long story short, if you’ve seen Code Geass , you know what happens after that.  So fast f

Two of a Kind…that Make Me Laugh!: Toradora!

Image
Hello, lovelies!  This week’s review is on a lovely anime about lovely high school relationships…that make us laugh.  In my continuation of doing some long overdue reviews, this week I’ll be reviewing one of the funniest rom-com animes I’ve seen.  I’m not going to give any hints or fancy introductions-although I made a cheesy attempt at that anyways-, so let’s get started on this week’s long overdue review on Toradora! This romantic comedy follows high schoolers Ryuji Takasu and Taiga Aisaka.  Ryuji is often seen as tough and intimidating because of his looks in spite of his gentle personality (that and him being a total neat freak).  However, his second year of high school starts off well when he finds himself in the same class as his best friend Yusaku Kitamura and his crush Minori Kushieda.  He also quickly meets Minori’s close friend, the short, stubborn, and often times violent Taiga Aisaka, also in his class.  When Ryuji learns that Taiga has a crush on Yusaku, and when Taig

Howdy, howdy!  Welcome to Part 2 of Hanime on Autism.  For this week's video, I talk about the symptoms of autism plus a little more of my own experience in living with autism.  I also give some advice on how to talk to someone with autism.  Be sure to check out my next anime review on Sunday, and stay tuned for Part 3!

My Eye’s on this One: Code Geass

Image
Howdy, howdy, folks!  As far as I can tell, Part 1 of Hanime on Autism was a success, but Part 2 is going to happen next Friday anyways regardless.  Anyways, this week I will be reviewing a show that I’ve had my eye on for a while-much like the title implies.  To give a little detail, it’s one of the most acclaimed sci-fi/mecha animes of all time and probably one of the finest shows in the genre that I’ve seen.  It also features one of the greatest anti-heroes in anime.  And every Johnny Yong Bosch fan knows this role as one of his most famous.  Ring any bells?  Well, if not, then let’s finally get on with this week’s review of Code Geass . Also known by its proper title Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion , the show follows high school student and exiled Britannian prince Lelouch Lamperouge.  In the world of Code Geass , the largest and most dominating power is the Holy Britannian Empire, taking over countries to the point of changing their names to “Areas.”  In 2010, Japan falls

Hanime on Autism Part 1

Greetings, Earthlings!  Friday has come, and that means today's Autism Awareness event continues with part one of my video series Hanime on Autism, where I talk about my own personal experience with autism. This week, I give a basic introduction where I define autism, why it's such a big deal for me, and a couple of other things in between.  Be sure to check out Part 2 next Friday!

Let’s Get Ready to Rumble!: Trigun: Badlands Rumble

Image
Howdy, y’all!  My Autism Awareness Month kicked off this past Friday, and continues on with a bang on a movie review that I’ve wanted to do for a long time now.  Many of you may remember a show called Trigun.  Back in November of 2014, I reviewed this show.  Not long after that, I heard that nearly ten years later after the series’ release, a movie was made.  So I bought the movie and watched it.  What did I think of it?  Well you’ll have to find out in this review, now won’t you?  So let’s saddle up and get on with this long awaited review of Trigun: Badlands Rumble . The film opens up in the middle of a bank robbery led by the infamous and ruthless robber Gasback. In the process of this robbery, he is suddenly betrayed by his henchmen, who claim to take the money stolen and leave him for dead.   This is interrupted by a distraught Vash the Stampede, who in his comical antics allows the henchmen and later Gasback to escape.   Twenty years later, the story takes us to Macca City

Hanime on Anime’s Autism Awareness Month Event Starts Today!

Greetings, fellow readers!  April has begun, which means a new month of reviews and the start of my popular Autism Awareness Month event!  I made a brief announcement about this year’s event this past Sunday about what to expect. For those of you reading this who haven’t gotten the message yet, this year I plan to do videos for my special Hanime on Autism posts.  As some of you may remember, my Hanime on Autism posts are part of the Autism Awareness Month event where I talk about my own experience with autism-for those of you who may also not remember, I have Asperger’s Syndrome, a high functioning form of autism.  These videos will be posted every Friday on YouTube -as opposed to posting every Wednesday like last year.  I will provide the actual video on the blog once it’s uploaded to YouTube. Also, as a quick reminder, there may be some delay with the video posts.  My schoolwork may get a little hectic and overwhelming the next few weeks, so I apologize in advance if I am no
