Character of the Month: Sato

Hello, fabulous peoples (I think I’ve found my catchphrase)!  I’m back this week with my final post of August.  That’s right, it’s Character of the Month-granted I think that should be expected anyways.  This month I found it really hard to pick a character for the title this month.  Don’t get me wrong, the two shows I reviewed were good, but honestly, the characters didn’t earn that much merit.  But when I really thought about it, there was one character that really stood out that I normally would not have picked in the first place.  So without further adieu, let’s talk about this character, my unconventional pick, Sato from Ajin . I’m actually going to skip the synopsis of Sato because my reason for picking is essentially a synopsis of his character anyway.  When we first meet Sato, we’re not sure what to think of him, secretly hoping that he is a good guy.  But after protagonist Kei Nagai is captured and tortured by the Japanese government, we quickly learn that Sato is not onl

A Taste that’s Out of this World!: Restaurant to Another World

Hello fabulous peoples!  I’m back this week with a brand new review on a surprisingly brand new show.  Seriously, it was recently released just this summer. In fact the series is barely over.  Still, I wanted to give my first impressions of the show while it was still fresh on my mind.  So I’ll skip the pleasantries and get right into this week’s review on Restaurant to Another World ! The series overall is episodic in nature, but the overall concept of the show itself is pretty simple and self-explanatory.  The show revolves around a restaurant called the Western Restaurant Nekoya that magically teleports to a fantasy world, leaving doors to the restaurant pretty much everywhere.  Each episode documents some of the regular patrons’ stories of how they encountered the restaurant, including the waitress who comes to work for the restaurant in episode one.  The episodes themselves are also named after the favorite dishes of the restaurant’s regulars.  And yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Greetings fabulous peoples!  I’m back again this week with a brand new review on a show that has been on my watchlist for quite sometime.  In fact, if any of you fellow readers have read my discussion post Is CGI Ruining Anime? , you might remember this one. While I made a comment on the show’s animation style, I have stated that the show nonetheless looked interesting enough to watch.  And when I got Internet T.V. installed at my house and a subscription to Netflix, I finally got my opportunity.  So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s review on the CGI thriller Ajin . Kei Nagai was once an ordinary teen until he’s hit by a truck and learns that he is an ajin, a seemingly immortal creature that can regenerate and revive itself after dying.  These beings can also create separate entities of themselves called black ghosts which can be used to fight other ajins.  They can also only be seen by other ajins.  Kei is immediately wanted by the Japanese government and goes on the run w

Looking Back: My Response to “20 Problems Only Anime Fans Will Understand” from orzzzz.com

Greetings, fabulous people of the Internet!  You may notice that this week’s post is a little different.  And no, this is not in relation to the upcoming Talkative Thursday video I’m planning (more on that later).  But many of you may actually remember this post: two years ago, I decided to react to an article that talked about some of the many problems that otakus have to deal with.  It’s so far been one of my favorite posts of all time!  And after two years, I decided to take a look back at some of my comments and add, revise, or confirm some of my statements.  So sit back, relax, and enjoy this week’s post as I look back on my reaction to orzzzz.com’s “20 Problems Only Anime Fans Will Understand!” 20. The Pain of Not Owning a Giant Robot My first response: Ah…the ever popular giant robot.  You know what they say, “Chicks dig giant robots!”-at least that’s what Megas XLR says about them(robots, that is).  Regardless, they definitely are a must in mecha anime.  From Giganto
