Hanime on Anime’s Character of the Month of August: Mao Sadao

Image
Wow.  I can’t believe that it’s that time of the month (and no, not that time of the month!-could’ve sworn I’ve used that joke before).  This month certainly has been very busy.  Aside from the fact that there was no post for the very first of August because I was out of town, I’ve been getting adjusted to being back at school-as many of you may know, I’m a full-time college student.  So yes, August was an exceptionally busy month for this blogger.  This also affected the decision for this month’s Character of the Month.  There wasn’t that much to go on; I only did two reviews this month.  But I did come to a decision.  So, enough of my excuses and woes, and onto this month’s Character of the Month: Mao Sadao, a.k.a The Dark Lord Satan, from The Devil is a Part Timer . Seeing that this character was from last week’s post, I’ll be a bit brief with the synopsis.  In the world of Ente Isla, the Dark Lord Satan rules with unquestioned authority.  But after an attack by Emilia the Hero

May I Take Your Order?: The Devil is a Part-Timer!

Well, I’ve managed to survive my first week of classes-if I hadn’t, I wouldn’t be here now.  So I’ll celebrate with this week’s review.  For this week, I’ll be reviewing The Devil is a Part-Timer! , a fantasy comedy that is exactly as it sounds.  So with that much said, let’s get started! The Devil is a Part-Timer! starts off in the land of Ente Isla, where a battle between the profane and the sacred insues.  In an attempt to save his own life, the Dark Lord Satan enters a portal and finds himself in modern-day Tokyo.  Along with one of his generals, Alciel, the Dark Lord Satan- now called Mao Sadao- is now forced to live in the modern world until he gains enough power to return to Ente Isla.  During that time, he gets an apartment and a job at McRonald (yes, I realize the pun here).  However, he’s not the only one-aside from Alciel-who followed him to the modern world.  In constant pursuit of him , the Hero Emilia also follows suit by renting an apartment and getting a job.  Whil

Bitches Do Love Cannons!: Nobunagun

Image
Hello world!  I’m back with a new anime review for this week.  But first, I do want to give credit for the title to Team Four Star (if you’ve never seen Hellsing Ultimate Abridged , then this means nothing to you).  Then again, if you’ve ever seen the anime I’m reviewing this week, then you would know why I’m using it.  This week, I’ll be delving into Nobunagun , an action-packed anime with aliens, history’s most iconic figures, and yes, bitches with cannons!  So, let’s get on with this then, shall we. In Nobunagun, Sio Ogura was an ordinary high school student.  Well, if you can call being a fanatic on all things military normal, than you can call her normal.  But during a class field trip to Taiwan, aliens invade and start attacking tourists and Sio’s classmates.  That’s when DOGOO, a secret organization whose sole purpose is to study and destroy these aliens- called Evolutionary Invasion Objects-, comes in.  Now, to break from the plot for a second, I’ll go into more detail on

Hanime on Anime’s Character of the Month of July: Ken Kaneki

Image
Well, ladies and gentlemen, it’s August.  Know what that means?  That’s right! It’s time to reveal July’s Character of the Month!  This month’s decision was pretty tough; I had at least two other nominees in the running.  But this one grew on me a bit.  So enough with the story and onto July’s Character of the Month: Ken Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul . Kaneki is the main protagonist of the fairly new anime Tokyo Ghoul .  A quiet, book loving college student, Kaneki lived a pretty mundane life.  However, that all changed one fateful night when he went out on date with a girl named Rize, who is a ghoul.  After being attacked by Rize, Kaneki tries to escape to a construction site, but both of them are crushed by iron bars that fall on them.  Rize dies, and Kaneki survives- with a bit of a memento.  During an emergency surgery that would save Kaneki’s life, Rize’s organs are transferred to Kaneki-so technically, Rize is still alive (sort of).  This procedure turns Kaneki into a half-human, ha
