Howdy, howdy!  April has come to a close, finals have come into full swing, and it’s time to reveal this month’s Character of the Month.  This month’s character is probably the first villain that I’ve had in a while.  In fact, he’s probably one of my favorites now.  So without further adieu, let’s talk about April’s Character of the Month: Dio Brando from Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure . Dio comes into play at the beginning of the JoJo saga in the Phantom Blood arc.  After being taken in by the Joestar family following the death of his alcoholic criminal father, Dio makes it his mission to make Johnathan Joestar’s life hell-and it actually happens within the first episode.  But after seven years, the two have somehow become friends (that’s still a mystery to me).  However, when Jojo discovers that Dio has been poisoning his father, Dio sets out to make sure Jojo is the only one who knows. Greetings, one and all!  Welcome to my third and final Autism Story in celebration of Autism Awareness Month!  Getting right to the point, a major theme that I’ve used in the last two stories that I’ve done is acceptance.  The first story talked about acceptance of myself as someone with autism, and the second talked about the acceptance of autism in the media.  This week’s story talks about other’s acceptance of me being autistic.  And of all the moments in my life, none of those were as powerful as this week’s story. As I said in my first story, there are times where you feel like a disability hands people a pass to treat you like you have a disability.  I also said that people who are disabled want to be treated like that disability isn’t there- but of course, this is a matter of opinion.  So in laments terms, it’s hard to tell anyone about your disability and expect them to treat you with some dignity.  And sure, that may sound like no one ...

Greetings, one and all!  I’m back today for my second Autism Story.  Before I begin, I do hope that everyone reading this has had a wonderful Easter (I know I did)!  This week’s story will be short, and that’s not compared to my last Story.  But this week’s story is actually about a non-anime show that has gotten some attention, and coincidentally making headlines right around Autism Awareness Month.                 As many of you may know, a while back Sesame Street welcomed a new neighbor.  And this neighbor, named Julia, has garnered a good bit of attention when word got out of her arrival.  Why?  Because she’s the first autistic muppet.  And sure, this is a good reason why Julia is getting so much attention.  It’s even no surprise that her debut came at the start of Autism Awareness Month.  But what exactly do I think of Julia?     ...

Good morning, fabulous people of the Internet!  Hanime on Anime here.  First, off I apologize for yesterday.  I didn't have time to post this week's Autism Story yesterday, so I've postponed it for next week.  And there still won't be an official post for today either.  However, in light of the Easter holiday, I did want to make a special post.  The video I have posted bellow is an anime version (dubbed) of the Passion of Christ called "My Last Days."  If you're an otaku and a Christian, I highly recommend it! Howdy, howdy folks!  Sunday is here and that means a fresh new review!  Hopefully, for those of you who read yesterday’s emotional post, it’ll be something positive to read.  And while this week’s show is not so new, it is nonetheless a classic.  Although, I feel like this review won’t be doing it much justice (I’ll explain later).  Anyways, let’s get started on this week’s long-awaited review on Neon Genesis Evangelion (also simply known as Evangelion ) . Greetings one and all!  Today begins my first Autism Story.  If you’re new around here or just missed my kick off to my Autism Awareness Event, I basically talk about something that happened in my life and how autism played a part in it.  But before I get into any further detail on this week’s story, I do want to note that I made a mistake with last week’s introductory post.  I thought that Autism Awareness Day was on April 1 st , it’s actually the 2 nd .  Hanime on Anime tradition states that the event starts the first of April, so therein lies the confusion on my part.  This won’t change how the event is run in any way; I just wanted to note that I made a mistake.  Anyways, back to this week’s story.  I decided to tell a story that makes a very personal and revealing note, one that I typically don’t do on my blog.  Getting straight to the point, it all started back in December… Many of you who read my blog regularly will remember that I ...
